Five-star Torpedo sink title rivals Sneyd Park

TORPEDO have a five-point lead in Division I following a great 5-1 win over title rivals Sneyd Park.

Liam Rice was their match-winner with a hat-trick. while George Dee and Mike Stubbs (penalty) were also on target. Sneyd's only consolation was an own goal.

Lawes Juniors replaced Sneyd in second place on goal difference following a 6-0 win against Clifton Rockets. Oli Bendall and Chris Taylor both netted twice and they were joined on the scoresheet by Marcus Street and Ed Grinsburg.

Sporting Greyhound saw off Clifton St Vincents 3-1 thanks to two goals from Matt Little and a Chris Elsey strike.

Ashley beat Retainers 4-1. Jason Joyce scored for Retainers, but Ian Cross (2), Mike Chapple and an own goal gave Ashley the points.

Saints OB beat AFC Bohemia 6-1 thanks to two goals each from Matt Horan, James Terris and Christian Undie.

Bottom club Evergreen collected a rare win, beating Portland OB 2-1, while Cotswool thrashed Jamaica Bell 5-0.

In Division II, Ashley Reserves beat Jersey Rangers 4-2 thanks to goals from Will Freeman (2), Paul Kirston and Kevin Tozer. Tom Chilcott and Tom Devlin replied for Jersey.

Cotswool Reserves slumped to a 6-2 defeat against Easton Cowboys, whose scorers were Paul Murray (2), Ali Vale, Ian Riddle, Cameron Nomro and Tony Black.

Dave Murray's hat-trick set up Sneyd Park Reserves for a 6-0 victory over Lion FC. Dave Farrington, Sam Brice and an own goal completing the tally.

Torpedo A's Division III title hopes suffered a setback with a 2-1 defeat by Clifton Rockets Reserves. Paul Wood scored for Torpedo.

Portland OB Reserves drew 3-3 with Clifton St Vincents A thanks to Rob Jarvis, John Hudson and Paul Cranston.

Sneyd Park A lost 4-2 against Easton Cowboys Reserves, Howard Keely and Magnus Mickahey scoring for Sneyd.

Old Cliftonians lead Division IV on goal difference from Helios FC after thumping West Town United 7-1. Helios, meanwhile, beat AFC Tebby Reserves 3-2 thanks to a hat-trick from Andy Makepeace.
